Every cyclist can benefit from a professional bike fitting. Bike Fit is a series of measurements and adjustments to properly fit you to your bike, providing increased power output, stroke rate, efficiency and comfort. You will not only benefit from improvements in performance, but reduction in injuries as well. Placing yourself in a more ergonomic position reduces stress on your shoulders, back and neck, preventing potential acute and chronic injuries. More about Bike Fit.

Athletic Trainers (AT)
Our Certified Athletic Trainers work at local high schools in the afternoons and evenings providing coverage for athletic practices and games. Each Athletic Trainer is equipped with the proper knowledge and skills to prevent, evaluate and rehabilitate athletic injuries when they occur. Through a collaborative approach with our Physical Therapists and local physicians, athletes can receive further treatment at an accelerated rate. More about Athletic Trainers
Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR)
Under clinical guidance and supervision of one of our highly trained Physical Therapists, you can quickly and comfortably develop lean muscle mass and strength using much lighter weights compared to traditional training methods. Blood Flow Restriction training is a safe and effecting option for many individuals looking for pain relief and rehabilitation ranging from post-surgical care to professional level athletic performance. Recent evidence also suggests that BFR training may help improve bone density. More about Blood Flow Restriction Therapy
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
Soft tissue mobilization can be performed using a variety of therapy tools and techniques. At SportsCare and Armworks, it is common for our therapists to use Graston and cupping during your appointments. The goal of these treatments is to mechanically break up scar tissue or muscle adhesions by massaging with metal tools or lifting and separating tissue layers with suctioning cups. Combined with appropriate exercises, these treatments will promote pain reduction and more efficient movement.
Through the application of Kinesiotape, our therapists can facilitate movement, provide stability and reduce inflammation to any joint or muscle. This tape, which can be worn for days at a time, is strong enough to give proper support, yet flexible enough that it will not restrict your range of motion. Made popular in the Olympics, this tape can be used on anyone suffering an injury, ranging from elite athletes to office workers. Both SportsCare and Armworks are proficient in the application of Kinesiotape.
Your ability to walk may be affected after injury or illness. Through specific exercises, the therapists at SportsCare will help you regain your independence by improving your strength, mobility, balance and endurance through your core, hips and legs. The gait training will begin with postural stability in an upright stance to create joint awareness and fall prevention then advances into single leg motion until we have you moving safely on your own. With therapeutic focus on every joint from head to toe, we will turn you into an efficient, well-oiled walking machine.
Athletes experience many set-backs following an injury. Rehabilitation for return to sports can be challenging both mentally and physically. For our running athletes (which includes most sports) we beef up our gait training to get you moving at a faster pace, focusing on rapid changes in direction or speed if necessary. Once mental confidence is acquired, and you no longer compensate to protect a muscle or joint, we will focus on your hip, knee, ankle and foot mechanics. Corrections will be made to your foot strike, ankle range of motion, knee drive, and hip stability to ensure everything is functioning properly together for improved performance and injury prevention. All SportsCare clinic locations can help you with running and return to sports therapy.
